01/10/18: DfE have confirmed that Get Information about Schools will email schools when any governor is 180 days away from ending their term, with a further reminder on the day the term expires. The message, however, will go to anyone who has a `Secure Access` account, and DfE have asked schools to check who has a secure access account and to make sure that these contact details are up to date. Feedback on these new developments is encouraged, using the feedback button on the website.
01/10/18: A large scale study in California published by the Harvard Kennedy School of Government which examined the effects of aiming to boost attendance by giving rewards, school prizes and commendations, found that these made no significant difference and in some cases could have a de-motivating effect.
